John Renfrow
John was birthed in Rutland, Vermont, but his parents had Colorado fever and got him to Montrose as quick as they could. He was raised there and loved all things baseball, collecting an absurd amount of MLB trading cards (yeah, he has a ’57 Topps baseball set.) He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder; he quickly put it use in Florida designing really cool communication and fiber optics equipment. Doing his job so well got him launched into engineering management in New Jersey where he was responsible for overseeing the design of LED lighting solutions, as well as heading site acquisition for national and international manufacturing.
Like his parents, he eventually caught Colorado fever too and fled the East, returning to his Montrose roots in 2003 where he joined forces with his father, Jim, a seasoned real estate veteran of 30+ years. He went on to found Renfrow Realty in 2009 — focusing on properties in the Montrose and Delta areas. John no longer engineers equipment, rather commercial real estate building, land and lease deals of every shape, size and flavor. His engineering and corporate knowhow has given him a Jedi-type insight found in few real estate brokers. A real estate maestro, he orchestrates multi-faceted networking and solves ridiculously hard transaction challenges.
John also has extensive experience in handling bank-owned properties, including notes and receiverships. In addition to the commercial real estate that he specializes in, he enjoys helping non-profits and area churches. His honors are lengthy but summarized as lots of sales, sales-team, broker-of-the-year, and most-transactions-of-the-year awards. If you’re still reading, then we’ll also mention that he’s rocked the top commercial broker position in volume and production in his market area for the past 14 years.
When he’s not making commercial real estate deals happen, he’s either hiking endless miles with his wife Sarah and four kids, chasing after bugling elk or landing big rainbows.
He has served as the past president and now long-time member of top-selling Colorado commercial broker group, Rocky Mountain Commercial Real Estate Group.
